Mrinalini Rajagopalan
- Associate Professor, History of Art and Architecture
Mrinalini Rajagopalan is an architectural historian of India and is particularly interested in the impact of British colonialism on the architectural, urban and preservation cultures of modern India.
Research Description
Mrinalini Rajagopalan is currently working on a book manuscript tentatively titled: Building Histories: The Social Lives of Delhi’s Monuments from the Colonial Past to the Postcolonial Present. She is also co-editor of the forthcoming book Colonial Frames, Nationalist Histories: Architecture, Identity, and Politics. At Pitt she offers courses on modernist architecture in Western and non-Western contexts; global urbanisms in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; and the history of architectural preservation.
